Terms of service
Plain words first, legal review second. This draft is in force until a UK solicitor has signed off the final text, which replaces it here.
1. Who we are
NextProbe is provided by NextProbe Ltd, a Synapse Holdings company in the United Kingdom. Company number and registered office to be confirmed before launch.
2. The service
NextProbe is a guided repair tool: a bench app, a web app, a phone companion and the platform behind them. It tells a technician where to probe next, why, and what the reading means, using fault trees, measured reference values and anonymised past cases. The technician decides. Every suggestion is logged with its reasoning and its sources, and nothing in the service replaces the judgement of the person holding the probes.
3. Accounts, plans and seats
A seat is one bench. You may install the bench app on any number of machines; one active session per seat runs at a time. Plans, prices and what each includes are on the pricing page; paid plans start with a 14-day trial and bill monthly or yearly through Stripe until cancelled. You can change or cancel a plan from the billing portal at any time; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
4. Your files
Boardviews and schematics you open stay on your device. We never receive, store or index them. The service receives part references, net names, readings, answers and the photos you choose to attach.
5. Contributed readings and fixes
Readings and confirmed fixes from your sessions are licensed to NextProbe in anonymised form, with no customer, workspace or free-text detail, to improve reference values and the fault trees for every bench. Contribution is on by default and can be switched off per workspace. You can export your data and delete your account at any time.
6. Acceptable use
The acceptable use policy is part of these terms. In short: NextProbe fixes hardware. It is not for defeating activation locks, account locks, carrier locks or device management, changing identifiers, or working on stolen devices. Accounts that break the policy are closed.
7. Content and licences
Guides, fault trees and reference values are ours or licensed to us. Creator material is used under a written agreement and credited. Wikipedia passages are reused under CC BY-SA 4.0 with attribution. You may use this content inside the service for repair work; you may not copy it out to build a competing service.
8. Liability
Board repair carries risk, and a reading, a verdict or a suggested fix can be wrong. To the extent the law allows, NextProbe is not liable for damage to a board, a device or data that results from following a step, and our total liability under these terms is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes and law
We may change these terms with notice by email and on this page. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without prejudice to consumer rights that apply where you live.
